The Baobab as Archive

In several Tanzanian communities the oldest baobab in a settlement functions as an unwritten registry: meetings, agreements, mournings and reconciliations all happen beneath it.

Recording those practices respectfully means recording who has the authority to tell them — a principle this library applies to every heritage story it publishes.
